Shopping Report

Mom, this post is for you!

OK – Besides the trinkets I have purchased for some family members, here is the report on my souvenir purchases.  I came to Hawai’i with a certain treat in mind – wanted to get a silver ankle bracelet with a whole string of sea turtles swimming around my ankle.  Looked everywhere to no avail.  I thought surely that would be easy to find!

Volcano coffee cup for Jer

Volcano T-shirt for Cyndi

Two Hawai’i beach towels

Two pounds 100% Kona Coffee

Five plumeria hair clips

Three Hawaiian print dresses

Hawaii tank top with beautiful embroidery hibiscus and colorful “Aloha!” for Cyndi

Green Hawaiian print shirt for Jer

Koa wood ankle bracelet with a single sea turtle on it (purchased only after it was certain the one I was looking for could not be found).

Kauai tank top with scary fish for Cyn

Red dirt shirt with Kauai rooster for Jeremy

Blue lava rock shirt with the Hamuhamunukunukuapua’a (Duh – it’s the state fish of Hawai’i!) for Jer

Kauai calendar for 2014

New seashell ornament for my Yule tree.  (That makes 5 or 6 seashells on my tree now!)

AND – last but certainly not least: Sterling silver ankle bracelet with a whole string of sea turtles swimming around it!  When I finally found it I took one look at the price and said “no” but Jer kept pushing and then the sales lady said – You like?  You want that one?  I repeated several times that I did not have that much money.  Then she offered to take 50% off!  I didn’t even ask!  I pulled out the magic plastic card.

Hanging Out in Po’ipu

Yes, here in Hawaii we see the sunrise every morning.  I’m not proud of that, but there you have it.  Why?  Forty roosters per square foot of Kauai.

Spouting Horn: the waves crash in under the rocks (Po’ipu means crashing waves) and up through a hole so it spouts like a whale.
