Jeremy and I missed Boscoe last year when we vacationed in Hawaii,
so this year we are taking our little boy to Oregon with us!

We have been planning the trip all year and now it’s just six weeks away, so I have been spending more time visualizing the perfect vacation, confirming hotel reservations, and plotting side trips.  Here is the itinerary thus far! CLICK the links in BLUE for more photos and info!

September 2 ~ Drive 10 hours (12-13 hours on the road with rest stops!)

September 3 ~ Hike to Ramona Falls

I expect the 8-mile hike to take four hours including a lunch break and a few hundred pixelated moments (we USED to call them “Kodak” moments in the old days).

Then we drive another hour and a half to Hood River, Oregon on the Columbia River to stay in the Vagabond Lodge for 3 nights.

September 4 ~ We plan to spend one entire day exploring the Columbia River Gorge from The Dalles

to Crown Point. One of the highlights for me will be shooting all the waterfalls along the Columbia River, most notably, Multnomah Falls!

September 5 ~ We plan to spend a day doing nothing, then rest afterward.

September 6 ~ We plan to make a 3-hour drive take 6 hours at a leisurely pace through Astoria to reach the Tradewinds Condos in Seaside, Oregon.  We will be in Unit 201 pictured in the link with the ocean view!

September 7 ~ Explore the area around Seaside and Canon Beach

September 8 ~ Another day doing nothing, then relaxing afterwards.

September 9 ~ Drive two and a half hours to Newport where we will spend one night.  We have to take turns babysitting Boscoe here so we can each visit the Newport Aquarium on our own.  We tried to find a baby sitter in Newport, but could not find one we feel comfortable leaving Boscoe with.

September 10 ~ Drive less than 3 hours from Newport to Bandon.

We’ll spend 7 nights at the Bandon Beach Motel.  Besides doing nothing and then resting afterwards, our plans include just shooting the place up and walking on the beach!

September 17 ~ Drive 9 hours to Vallejo!
