Oregon Coast Lighthouses

There are nine lighthouses on the Oregon Coast.  We shot them all!

1-Terrible Tilly

Above is Tillamook Rock Lighthouse, also known as Terrible Tilly.  We could see Tillamook Rock from our room at the Tradewinds in Seaside.

But it was usually shrouded in fog, so this is a picture on a clearer day from Cannon Beach.  No getting close to Tilly without a boat.

Then you get down to it and it’s kinda stubby and plain.

Yaquina Head Lighthouse came next and she has a dramatic setting!

Heceta Head also had a spectacular setting and if there was a way to drive out to it,
we did not find it.  So we shot it from a very cool beach.

DSC03329-2_tonemapped copyWe missed Cape Arago the first try and had to double back a couple days later to get it.
It was only 30 minutes north of Bandon, so it was a lovely day trip!

That brings us to the Coquille River Lighthouse.  Not only did I find her
to be the prettiest lighthouse on the Oregon Coast, she also happened to sit in Bandon where we spent six nights.  So I got a few shots of her.  In a lot of conditions.
See MORE Coquille River Lighthouse here!

Cape Blanco lighthouse was the third and final lighthouse visible from one of our rooms.  Only at night.  Just a teeny, tiny dot of light.  Occasionally.DSC03251_tonemapped copy DSC03259_tonemapped copy

We enjoyed shooting all the Oregon lighthouses so much, we now bring you a BONUS lighthouse from Crescent City, California!

LOVED Oregon’s spectacular coastline and glorious waterfalls and beautiful lighthouses.  But California rules!

A Smattering of Bandon

Our last 6 nights of vacation we spent in Bandon, Oregon.  What a beautiful, amazing coastline and a friendly tourist town.  Here’s a quick taste of a great place to visit!
