Highlights from a Very Long Day

Honolulu

Need to relax between flights?

Honolulu’s airport ROCKS!

carbear

Check the awesome kukui nut lei around Jer’s neck!

Alamo rent-a-car wins the gold star for service today!  (And the people at Hawaiian Airlines were REALLY nice!)  They ran out of economy cars so they upgraded us to the Chrysler 200.  Bigger for my long legs is always good, though it’s kind of a toad.

AND ~ Introducing our mascot for this trip, my tie-dyed Peace beanie bear. (Sittin on the dash having the time of his LIFE!)  Peace Bear needs a Hawaiin name, but we haven’t found just the right one yet.  Watch for him in upcoming photo ops!

lava-lanai

Hanging out on our lanai here in paradise!

The coolest thing so far about our trip?  The FROGS!  The lanai is screened in, so it’s like we are sitting outside, and a million tree frogs are serenading us!  It’s like the koki frogs in Puerto Rico.  Most of them are saying koki (though I have no idea if they’re the same frogs) but lots of others have more complicated melodies to add to the cacophony and the music is glorious!

Oddly enough, they’re considered a terrible pest. There’s even a Frog Whisperer who tries to save them one-by-one from the ongoing attempts to eradicate them.

  1. Love Jeremy’s lei! That is so cool! Also, the waiting area is remarkable! I would want to sit in there and relax! Hugs!
